WHY TREES FOR THE FUTURE?
For nearly two decades, I have supported Trees for the Future because their approach addresses several problems at once.
In many parts of the world, families are living on land that has been heavily degraded by deforestation and unsustainable farming practices. As soil quality declines, crops become less productive, food security suffers, and families often struggle to earn a stable income.
Trees for the Future works directly with these farmers through a four-year training program. Rather than simply planting trees and leaving, they provide seedlings, education, and ongoing support as families establish Forest Gardens on their own land.
These gardens combine food crops, fruit trees, timber trees, and living fences—sometimes called rhinoceros hedges—to create productive ecosystems that protect the soil, improve biodiversity, and provide harvests that families can use and sell.
The result is a model that helps restore the land while improving the lives of the people who depend on it.
WHY WRENWEAR SUPPORTS THIS WORK
I've spent most of my life making art.
For many years I assumed the best way to help causes I cared about was simply to donate. Eventually I began asking a different question:
Could my artwork do more than decorate a wall or a shirt?
Wrenwear is my attempt to find out.
Every design begins with the birds and wild places that inspire me. A portion of every sale helps support forest restoration through Trees for the Future, connecting the wildlife I celebrate in my artwork with efforts to restore habitats and strengthen communities around the world.
